Beaches Sifnos

Kamares Strand

The Kamares beach on Sifnos is located directly on the same named port on the island. The beach offers little shade, but a great view of the surrounding mountains and a good sand and water quality. If you are hungry or thirsty you can go to the nearby taverns or supermarkets.

Fassolou Strand

Fassolou Beach is located south of Faros on the island of Sifnos. The sand quality is quite good and on the beach there are some tamarisk that provide shade. You have a great view to the sea and to the monastery Chrissopigi. We didn't like the water quality very much, near the beach there were some light green algae on the seabed.

A rope protects the beach from the parking lot behind it. Unfortunately, this parking lot is given an astonishing amount of space.

- GiorgosDimitris Directly behind the beach is the popular restaurant and grill house 'Giorgos - Dimitri'. As the name suggests, there is a lot from the grill and also specialities from Sifnos. You sit under tamarisk with a view of the beach.

- Fassolou Studios
On the way to Faros the Fassolou Studios are located above the beach. All with sea views, good facilities and cooking facilities.

- Studios Kavos
In the east of the bay on a hill lie the Kavos Studios. The studios are quite well equipped and from here you have a fantastic view of the whole bay. And a lot of rest.

Accessibility / How to get to Fassolou Strand
The beach is only a few minutes walk from Faros. From Faros follow the path up the hill to the east and you come to a small road leading to Fassolou.

Platis Gialos

The beach Platis Gialos is located on the south coast of Sifnos. The 700 meters long and quite narrow beach is one of the best visited beaches on Sifnos. The sand quality of the beach is good. Shadows are occasionally found under tamarisk.

At the beginning of the beach in the east starts a small promenade, which leads directly behind the beach. The promenade does not even lead to half of the beach, here the beach is too narrow for that.

Behind the beach the development begins immediately. These are usually restaurants, cafes and accommodation. Everything is centrally located and it is not far from the beach to the nearest cafe. Some locations also offer direct sun beds. Usually right in front of the cafes.

In the west the beach is a bit wider and the choice of sun beds is better. Luckily not everything is delivered with sun loungers and so in the eastern part of the Platis Gialos beach one finds still a few quite beautiful places at the beach.

Along the beach and also along the road running parallel to the beach there are several accommodations.

Accessibility / Directions Platis Gialos
The beach is easily accessible by bus from Artemonas and Apollonia. From other places you usually have to change trains in Apollonia or Artemonas.

Apokofto

Apokofto beach is located in the south of the island of Sifnos. The 200 metre long beach offers beautiful sand and clear water. Shadows can be found under some tamarisk. From the beach you have a great view to the monastery Chrissopigi. By car you can (unfortunately) drive directly to the beach.

- Restaurant Chrysopigi
At the beginning of the beach in the southwest is the restaurant Chrysopigi. The restaurant is located directly on the beach and offers a great view of the sea and the Chrissopigi monastery. There are good grilled dishes and other typical dishes. We also recommend the very good revithia (chickpea soup)

Accessibility / Directions Apokofto Strand
Take the bus from Apollonia or Artemonas to Platis Gialos and get off at the bus stop above the Chrissopigi Monastery. Alternatively, one walks from Faros along the coast to Apokofto beach.

Glipho

Glipho Beach is located in the south of the island of Sifnos near Faros. Glipho offers quite beautiful sand which is partly interspersed with stones. Some tamarisk trees provide shade. You have a beautiful view of the sea and the village of Faros. The beach, which used to be undeveloped towards the inland, is now also built on here.

There are no catering facilities on the beach, but the very close village of Faros offers a few possibilities

Accessibility / Directions to Glipho Strand
Take the bus from Apollonia or Artemonas to Faros. The beach is located directly west of the village.
